It is well known that the growth and reproduction of mould need a certain temperature and humidity. In fact, the optimum temperature for mould reproduction and toxin production is 25-30°C. During this period of time, it is easy to breed mould. Some feed anti-mildew agents are needed. Calcium formate can also keep the feed free from mould.
Speaking of the use of calcium formate in the feed, we all know that it is a calcium supplement and an acidifier. It seems to be rarely mentioned in the feed mold. In fact, the initial role of calcium formate in the feed is to prevent mildew. With the research and development of calcium formate in recent years, it has been found to be more prominent in calcium and acidification.
Speaking of feed anti-mildew, CDchem first tells you the matters needing attention when using feed anti-mildew agent:
1.Flexible use of anti-mildew agents according to the actual situation such as water content: there are many factors affecting the effect of anti-mildew agents, such as solubility of anti-mildew agents, acidity and alkalinity of feed environment, water content, temperature, sugar and salt content in feed, pollution degree of feed, etc.
However, the use of anti-mildew agents in feed mainly depends on the season and water content to determine whether to use and use. Therefore, in the dry and cool season such as autumn and winter, when the feed moisture is below 11%, it is generally unnecessary to use anti-mildew agent; and when the moisture is above 12%, the anti-mildew agent should be used, and the amount of anti-mildew agent should be increased in the dry and cool season such as high temperature and high humidity, so as to ensure better anti-mildew effect.
2.Anti-mildew and antioxidant combined use: feed mildew process is accompanied by the oxidation process of nutrients in feed. Generally, anti-mildew agents should be used with antioxidants to form a complete anti-mildew and antioxidant system, so as to effectively guarantee and prolong the storage period.
Calcium formate in feed significantly reduces the acidity of feed system. Salts containing formic acid are mainly used to improve processing performance and facilitate use, but organic acid itself still plays a role. Organic acid can effectively inhibit the production of mould, reduce feed mildew, and effectively increase the absorption and conversion of animal feed.
