Character Description: Glycerol, known as glycerol, is a colorless, odorless, viscous liquid with slightly sweet taste, melting point 20℃, boiling point 290 ℃(decomposition), relative density 1.2613 (20/4℃). Pure glycerol can form crystalline solids. It crystallizes most easily when it is cold to - 15 ~55 ~℃. It has strong water absorption and can be soluble in acetone, trichloroethylene and ether-alcohol mixture.
